The Queensland First Home Owners’ Grant is a State Government Initiative to assist first-time home owners in purchasing or building a new home sooner.
How much is the First Home Owners’ Grant?
The First Home Owners’ Grant amounts vary depending on the State or Territory you are purchasing the home. As of 20 November 2023, the First Home Owners’ Grant in Queensland is $30,000.
Who Is Eligible?
The eligibility criteria for the First Home Owners’ Grant varies between each State and Territory. To use the First Home Owners’ Grant with your first home purchase in Queensland, you must abide by the following conditions:
This must be you and your spouse’s first home purchase in Australia.
You can only receive the FHOG once, regardless of if you intend to purchase in a different State or Territory.
You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident (or applying with someone that is).
How to apply for the First Home Owners’ Grant in QLD
You can apply for the QLD First Home Owners’ Grant in two ways – directly through Queensland Revenue Office (QRO) and through an approved bank or financial institution (approved agent) that is assisting you with your finance.
